Machine Learning Methods : Classification

There are many ways of classifying machine learning algorithms. In this assignment, I chose the below learning method classification that I find simple and intuitive, not necessarily exhaustive in terms of the algorithm list. The following mind map depicts a listing of 10 learning models and some key learning algorithms under each learning model category:

For each of the learning method classification, we will look at a basic definition of the classification and a list of important or well-known algorithms. Further for each of the algorithm, we will mark if they fall under supervised and/ or unsupervised learning technique, if they support two-class and /or multi-class data sets, are they generative or discriminative nature and if they are sequential or parallelizable processes. Firstly, Let us understand what each of the above attributions mean.
